Dr. Yazan Halasa is a Specialist in Psychiatry and Addiction, holding medical registration in both Jordan and the United Kingdom. He is board-certified in Psychiatry and Addiction by the Jordanian Medical Council and is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists UK
Dr. Halasa began his psychiatry career at Al-Rashid Hospital, where he later served as a Research and Educational Supervisor, delivering lectures to medical students and trainees. He then worked as a Specialist Doctor in Psychiatry at Pennine Care NHS Trust in Manchester, UK, where he was responsible for managing junior psychiatry doctors at Stepping Hill Hospital and contributed to quality improvement projects for service users.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Halasa is the founder of Hareb, a mental health awareness campaign dedicated to reducing stigma and improving access to treatment. Under his leadership, Hareb collaborated with various organizations to launch impactful initiatives, including interactive art exhibits, social media events, and school-based mental health discussions. He also led a team of over 100 volunteers, organizing numerous events to promote mental health awareness within the community.
Currently, Dr. Halasa practices as a Specialist in Psychiatry and Addiction at the Mental Health Hub. He also co-hosts the Mental Health Monday segment on Beat FM, a weekly radio program aimed at raising awareness and breaking stigma around mental health topics.
