The opening of the Sharif Eye Specialty Center was inaugurated under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdallah of Jordan in June 2000.
Over the following 10 years, additional branches were opened covering national and regional locations. Sharif Eye Centers are committed and dedicated to provide comprehensive and complete medical care for eye surgery and vision correction.
In June 2007, Sharif Eye Centers opened its most state-of-the-art facility in Jabal Amman with the most advanced and sophisticated technologies and equipment available, with a total cost exceeding 10 million dollars.
The new center consists of a 6-story building specialized in various ophthalmic care treatments, making it the largest and most recognized center-of-excellence in the region.
It provides multiple subspecialties clinics including LASIK vision correction, cataract and glaucoma clinics, retina and diabetic eye care clinic. The center also provides pediatric ophthalmology services as well as cosmetic eye surgery clinic.

The ICL procedure takes only 10 minutes per eye and the visual recovery is rapid. We offer this technology to our patients who have very high short sight, (over minus 12) or high long sight (over plus 5). Corneal Transplant Unit
This operation is called Cornel grafting or in more scientific terms P.K.P (Penetrating Keratoplasty) if all corneal tissue is replaced or D.L.K. (Deep Lamellar Keratoplasty if the anterior part of the cornea is only replaced.
Corneal grafting is one of the safest organ transplantation surgeries due to its high success rate and low risk of rejection.
After surgery, recovery is smooth allowing most patients to return to their regular daily activities in a week or two, keeping in mind taught exercises should be avoided in the first three months.
Visual rehabilitation varies from case to another, with most patients improving more than 50% in the first three to six months. Read Less
