Follicular Unit Extraction

Many people have recently become more inclined to overcome baldness problems by relying on hair transplantation using a number of available techniques. • Preparing the patient: The patient is required to stay away from smoking for two weeks before undergoing hair transplantation FUE, also he should refrain from some drugs and alcohols at least for a day before the hair transplantation.

• During (FUE): Remove the hair follicles one by one from the back of the scalp after shaving it, and then keep the excised follicles in a special solution and select the best ones to grow in bald areas. The recipient area is sterilized and anesthetized, and then tiny openings or incisions are made to implant the harvested hair follicles.
• After hair transplantation: the patient feels pain when pressing the scalp for a few days after the hair transplant, and can leave the hair transplant center or the clinic after the completion of the transplant procedure.

The patient feels pain during the first days of hair transplantation and this can be controlled by taking painkillers, the patient also may cover his scalp with a bandage to keep new hair follicles away from germs and surrounding environment, so the patient may take some antibiotics according to the specialist's recommendation. The patient can return to normal work two to five days after the date of hair transplantation.

The new hair begins to grow within two to three weeks after restoring the growth characteristics of the follicles, reaching the required limit after approximately 8 months to a year of hair transplantation by Follicular unit extraction. The number of extracted follicles can be up to 5000, which means that this technique can address baldness problems in large areas of the head.

Success rates of hair transplantation techniques depend on the efficiency and professionalism of the hair transplant specialist, so he must be carefully selected.
